The St. Andrew's Black Alumni Collective (BAC) is a group consisting of alumni who strive to support and enrich the experiences of Black students at St. Andrew’s. In the wake of the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd, the Collective was formed out of the desire to “do our part," specifically to provide policy recommendations for the improvement of the St. Andrew's experience for Black students.
The establishment of the BAC (FAM)ily Fundraiser centers around the Collective’s three tenets of fellowship, advocacy, and mentorship(FAM). Through this fundraiser, we are laying the foundation for the BAC Fund. This restricted fund will help black students at St. Andrew's afford books, travel opportunities, college tuition, and fund an innovation award/grant. There may also be occasional grants to charitable partners working to promote racial justice. Our goal for this first effort is to raise $7,500. This will fund a one-time college grant of $2,500 for a Black student graduate of the Class of 2020 and one in the Class of 2021. The remainder will support other BAC initiatives to be identified this year.
Please join us in our efforts! With your support, we can reach our goal.
Thank you for your generosity.
